Unshaven Hair Transplant

Unshaven hair transplant is an optional method similar to DHI or FUE hair transplant, but without shaving the hair.

It is an ideal option for patients who do not like the idea of having a fully shaved head with redness and crusts, and therefore could not muster the courage for the hair transplant.

Normal hair transplantation techniques are also used in unshaven hair transplant. There are two methods for the unshaven technique: pretrimmed hair transplantation and nonshaven hair transplantation. Only a small area (10 x 5 cm) is shaved in the nape area in pretrimmed unshaven method, and around 1000 – 1500 grafts are extracted through regional shaving. A solution to thinning hair is provided in this way. However, it is necessary to either shave off completely or continue the entire procedure without shaving, if you complain from excessive hair shedding and going bald.

What Are The Advantages of Hair Transplant Without Shaving?

The most important advantage of this method is that the patient can return to his/her social life immediately after hair transplant. Another advantage of unshaven hair transplantation is that it is a good option for women who want to have a hair transplant but do not want their hair to be shaved off, or who have partial baldness and thinning hair.

The only negative aspect of this method compared to other hair transplant methods is that the procedure requires much more attention and time since the hair is not shaved. This certainly does not cause any negativity in terms of the success of this hair transplant method. In addition, symptoms such as redness and swelling after the procedure heal in a much shorter time compared to shaved hair transplant.  Hair follicles can be harvested to the targeted area much more densely in the unshaven hair transplant method.
