FUE Hair Transplantation
FUE hair transplantation is the name of the surgical procedure in which the hair follicles extracted from other areas are transplanted into the desired area. The most natural results are obtained by this process. Since the hair follicles are harvested one by one, it allows to be collected one by one from different areas of the body.
What are FUE hair transplantation types?
Micro FUE, Soft FUE and Sapphire FUE are hair transplantation techniques.
Micro FUE technique is a further improved version of the manual FUE method. Here, hair follicles are collected with devices with micro tips. In this technique, using micro motors with a diameter of 0.6 – 0.9 mm, the canals through which the hair follicle will be implanted are opened.
In soft FUE technique, sedation process is used for hair transplantation operation. Thus, the patient is relieved with anesthetic drugs, but it is ensured that he or she undergoes the operation consciously. Since there is no pain,it is a more comfortable procedure both for the patient and for the specialist performing the procedure. The patient under sedation can have the procedure and experience in a way that he/she can speak.
How To Apply FUE Hair Transplant?
Before starting the process, the area to be transplanted and the donor area are anesthetized with local anesthesia. After local anesthesia, the micro motor tip is used towards the exit direction of the hair to take the hair follicle, and the hair follicle is separated from the skin. After collecting as many grafts as needed, hair transplantation is performed with the same device and method in the desired area.
Each graft contains approximately 2 – 3 hair follicles. An average of 4000 – 4500 grafts are enough for hair transplantation.
In FUE hair transplantation, it is very important to implant the healthy hair follicles taking into account the exit direction and angle of hair.
Although hair follicles taken from the neck area are usually used, eyebrow, mustache and beard roots can also be used. Since the roots taken belong to the person himself, the new hairs appear in the same color and character.
Depending on the number of grafts, it takes an average of 6 – 7 hours. In FUE method, it takes between 2 and 4 hours to remove grafts. After grafting, there should be a short break. Duration of the process depends on factors such as the size of the area to be transplanted and the number of grafts to be applied to this area and the experience of the specialist who will perform the procedure.
Things to Consider Before and After Hair Transplantation
You should have clean and oil-free hair before FUE hair transplant.
You should quit smoking and consuming alcoholic beverages, and avoid cardio exercises in the weeks before the operation, and be full during the procedure.
Although the hair transplanted in FUE hair transplantation is shed after a while, it grows again permanently in a short time. You have to keep your head upright after the operation to get rid of the edema in a short time.
You should give maximum care and attention to the transplanted area for 15 days. Even your pillow is important to protect the recipient and donor area. We recommend you not to use hard pillows that may damage the hair follicles.
Please avoid any aggressive haircuts, apart from a trim by using scissors.
It is wrong to think of hair transplantation as an easy procedure. Full compliance with every instruction given by the specialist performing the procedure is of great importance for the success of the operation.
Please stop taking showers, and avoid swimming in the pool or sea for a few days, do not be exposed to sunlight, as your scalp is sensitive after the procedure, and do not pick at scabs which may increase your risk of developing a skin infection.

There is no risk of scarring after the surgery, as stitches are not placed on the transplanted area.
- Since the healthy hair follicles are extracted from the donor area individually and transplanted to the recipient area in the same way, there will be no serious bleeding and no scarring in the areas where the procedure is performed.
- Many people prefer to have a faster hair transplant without any pain under local sedation. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and ends in a single session lasting 6 to 7 hours.
- Alternative donor areas such as the beard and chest can also be used in the FUE technique.
Better results are achieved with the FUE method, as a denser and regional transplantation can be performed. There is no risk of hair loss after hair transplant. Because the healthy hair follicles are extracted from the top of the ears or the nape. which do not fall off, as they are resistant to the hair loss.
